Personal Information

Hobbies: MONARCH BUTTERFLY CONSERVATION: Raising endangered Monarch Butterflies, through all of their life stages. Eggs are harvested from milkweed plants in the garden, and raised in a large terrarium. When ready, butterflies are successfully released back to their environment. By protecting the larva from predators, more adult butterflies are produced. Interviewed by CTV Barrie, in addition to print article, regarding my butterfly conservation efforts.

Monarch Butterfly Conservation

Last year, I released over 500 monarch butterflies. I have been interviewed by CTV Barrie twice, in 2023, and 2022. This year I added mason bees to my conservation efforts. Butterfly eggs are harvested from June-August. The emerging caterpillars are kept indoors, and cared for until they emerge as fully developed Monarch Butterflies. Once able to fly, they are released outdoors, usually placed on a blooming flower.
