· Supervise, assign, and delegate tasks to up to 15 guards prior to and throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic
· Utilize Radios, telephones, pagers, visual and auditory alarm systems to respond to emergency and non emergency calls
· Strong understanding of Occupational Health & Safety standards and WHMIS
· Monitor a 400+ bed hospital premise totaling 3 buildings, and 3 off site premises with high vigilance to prevent potential threats and ensure the safety of all staff, patients, and visitors
· Recognizes and appropriately respond to individuals experiencing mental health crisis and effectively uses crisis & verbal de-escalation strategies.
· Manage daily logs, documents, and file reports with utilization of Microsoft office and other programs
· Effectively train and mentor new security staff to the client’s expectations
· Interacts and works closely with emergency response personnel such as fire, medical, and police services
· Appropriately utilizes security equipment
· Ensure safe rescue of patients and staff during emergency codes
