My main job was to work in a 30 to 40 people size team to pick, pack, and ship medication to various hospitals, pharmacies, and stores from 6:30pm till finish which in most cases would be around 3 - 4 o'clock am. The work consisted of long hours of standing and walking. After checking which area you were specifically assigned to you would travel and work in that area throughout the day. In some instances if you finished all the work you would travel to other areas helping your team to complete those areas as well.
Our procedures were to scan totes coming down the conveyor, then proceed to get the confirmed materials and items needed for the tote to complete its order.
Rarely ever made any mistakes or errors so I was trustworthy enough to be placed in three specialty areas known as the vault, cage, and bio. Where I had to check manually filled document orders by personal doctors or experts. And accurately comparing both the company and theirs were correct. Then completing the given order shown and correctly entering that data into their software in order to ensure that specific individual item was selected that way it can be traced back perfectly from our warehouse.
Worked in the bio box which was a large freezer room holding medications that needed to be refrigerated. By properly following the packaging procedure to ensure the item stays cold during the whole delivery process. As well as detecting any defects in the packaging that could affect the status of our medication.
Double checked items by accurately verifying items overall status were correct and perfect for shipping in a fast paced tempo. For example I would have to use a computer station which would consist of a table and a software that the company uses for the procedure of double check. I would have to check and confirm item name, company, quantity, measurements prescribed, damage and numerical or alphabetical code was acceptable. Then enter all that information onto their software and then input confirmation to finalize. After that you would in some exceptions bubble wrap items if needed, particularly glass. Then package everything in a sealed bag then back into a tote or box ready for shipping.
