  • YOM 252 Maintenance - Environmental protection - Spill response barge, Repaired and maintained fleet of 6.4 l diesel powered jet drive sea trucks
  • YD 250 Floating Industrial Crane barge, Operated, performed preventive and demand maintenance on 400hp, 11500lbs/hr. steam @185 psi Scotch marine boiler and auxiliary equipment such as Steam generator, diesel generator, large winches, water feed and fuel pumps
  • YDG 3 Degaussing barge, Degaussing experience of 3 Navy Frigates and 1 submarine Operated, stood watch, performed planned maintenance on 2 x 1680hp Fairbanks Morse diesel Engines; 2x 60kw Degaussing generators and auxiliary equipment such as Air compressors, coolers, fans, etc.
  • CFAV FIREBRAND (present member), Operating and maintaining 4 x 365hp Cat diesels and propulsion systems 2x 45kw generators and auxiliary equipment Perform engine room readings and checks whist underway and alongside on ships machinery ensuring all lube oil, fuel oil, coolant, gear oil, bearing oil, hydraulic oil, compressor oil, are operating within O.E.M specifications. Maintain log book

Duties Included

  • Check or replace all filters, belts, fans, hoses, piping, couplings and connections
  • Checking various machinery systems and piping for excessive heat and vibration
  • Record: Voltage, frequency, amperage and RPM made by ship's generator
  • Testing of alarm systems (mechanical & fire and smoke)
  • Testing of Emergency stop / firefighting systems
  • Maintain greasing schedules

  • YTB Glendale / Glendyne Operated and maintain: 2x 900hp Ruston propulsion engines and auxiliary systems.
  • YTM Tillicum Operate and maintain: 2x 635bhp, Detroit diesels and auxiliary systems
  • YTL Parksville / Lawrenceville Operate and maintain: 2 x 365hp Cat diesels and propulsion systems
