Performed a visualization analysis of loan data for a finance client to assess the risk of loan defaults, examining the distribution of balance and credit score partitions while monitoring the trends in risk to pinpoint potential risks of debt write-offs across different loan types over a one-year timeframe
Explored data tables, conducted multiple table joins, and refined the dashboard to facilitate data visualization, which involved data modelling, data integration, Power Query to prepare the data, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to create custom calculations and measures
Created several individual sheets to illustrate the average risk metrics for the portfolio in relation to Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), Exposure at Default (EAD), and its Expected Credit Loss (ECL) across different stages of Provision for Credit Loss (PCL) levels, including Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3
Offered an overview of the predicted balance losses within a one-year timeframe for different product types in the portfolio, including 1st mortgage, 2nd mortgage, 1st Heloc, 2nd Heloc, and Hybrid followed by detailed breakdowns of their monthly predictions for the one-year period
Presented a credit score distribution for the loan portfolio and categorized their risk into different tiers and explored the underlying correlations between loan defaults and metrics such as Total Debt Service (TDS), Gross Debt Service (GDS), and Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratios

Created customer leads and recommended optimal strategies to boost customer acquisition and engagement by leveraging multiple channels, including Direct Mail, phone, and Email campaigns

Process Automation Optimization (VBA and SAS Macro)
Created a one-click automation process to aggregate bulk billing data from local distribution centers like Enbridge and Alectra, incorporating self-verification and reconciliation processes to identify discrepancies in building consumption versus the company's meter readings that were potentially arising from factors such as estimation errors, meter recording mistakes, customer adjustments, or incorrect LDC measurements
This newly created process had demonstrated to facilitate a rapid further investigation
Designed a VBA userform template that could retrieve requested data, capture vital dispatch-related information such as bulk bill details and resident summaries, save this information to PDFs, perform PDF-to-Excel conversions, oversee file storage, and ultimately upload the data
The one-click SAS automation process in conjunction with the VBA userform, enabled users to streamline extensive data into manageable components aiming to reduce errors resulting from human actions, eliminate redundant or outdated steps, and extract additional valuable insights
Documented a desktop process for utilizing the automation procedure, which included access requests, workflow descriptions, and identification of key stakeholders, with the aim of facilitating a seamless and rapid knowledge transfer for new team members
BAU - Analytics and Insights (SAS and Python)
Regularly performed flux analysis on entity-level consumption data extracted from Salesforce to identify anomalies in consumption data and uncover their underlying causes; this analysis connecting with customer data, sales operations, and marketing campaign information had gained a deep insight for enhancing customer relationships and promoting better integration and collaboration with third-party services and support
Applied Market Basket Analysis (MBA) to find connections between products and customer usage patterns, aiming to create customized bundling offers for cross-selling water meters, thermal meters, geometers, and heat pumps
Discussed to establish the Minimum Support Criteria with the goal of reducing the sample size
Employed benchmarks to incorporate high-profit products into the analysis and calculate appropriate customer discounts, considering cost and profit factors
Conducted Clustering Analysis to identify high-value customers using key metrics such as risk type, service tenure, consumption, billed amount, energy charge, water & sewer charge, regulated charge, geothermal charges, admin fee, provincial rebate, and more
The high-value customer list will be targeted for marketing tactics, particularly those nearing their contract expiration date, offering them improved renewal agreements, including service discounts, reduced administration fees, and enhanced submetering program credits
Conducted a deep-dive analysis and penetration analysis on customers with bad debts who were 30+, 60+, and 90+ days delinquent, or had write-offs, aiming to understand the reasons behind their delinquency (e.g., moving out, no preauthorized payment setup, financial difficulty)
Categorized their risk levels, and provided insights to the billing and meter teams to guide further investigations, reimbursement, or collection actions taking into consideration of factors like customer type, interaction frequency, contract start and end dates, order entries, and umbrella agreements.
