· Processed several files on backlog consisting of thousands of pages each under the Access to Information Act.
· Many requests included training materials for new hires and each branch of the IRB including the Refugee Protection Division, Refugee Appeal Division, Immigration Division and the Immigration Appeal Division.
· Materials also contained research methods, recommendations and advice provided by the IRB Legal Deparmtment.
· Processed and provided redaction recommendations on hundreds of reasons and decisions cases and hearing transcripts which contained highly graphic, sensitive and personal information.
· These decision cases were obtained directly through the court and provided in depth information of the applicants personal life and reasons to either accept or deny the applicants’ entry into Canada

· Manages internal and external stakeholder requests, reviewing in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act 1990 (MFIPPA), Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA), Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other legislative requirements
· Interpret legislation and apply appeal precedents and findings
· Primary liaison between external parties, internal departments and the Information & Privacy Commissioner (IPC)
· Process access to information requests effectively under established legislated timelines and promotes a culture of privacy protection
· Promotes routine disclosure information, investigates privacy breaches, completes privacy impact assessments and prepares appeal submissions
Ensures the confidentiality of records that may be highly confidential, sensitive and/or political and may include solicitor-client privilege, law enforcement matters; technical, commercial and financial information, labour relations matters, and personal information

· Utilizes technology and tools for case management and redaction, severing information exempted or excluded, satisfying corporate and IPC reporting requirements

· Process large, sensitive and complex files from several Health Institutions throughout the province
· Manage relationships with external stakeholders and provide expert advice and recommendations on the application of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA/FOIPPA)
