I started cooking at a young age and as I got older realized I thoroughly enjoyed it. I enjoy playing around with new recipes at home and testing them out on family and friends. It is a way for me to relax.


I started refinishing furniture (wooden pieces) a few years ago after finding a small table that was quite ugly. I was determined to bring it back to life although I had not training at all. I was amazed at how my little, ugly table turned out to be a beautiful piece that I was proud of. I do not do this consistently but when I come across something that needs some love, I give it some. 


Exercising has been another past time that I started very young. I come from an active family and found solace exercising in some form or another over the years. I was involved in array of sports growing up, from soccer to ice skating to swimming and wound up falling in love lifting weights. I took a couple courses on personal training and nutrition and went on to work as a personal trainer in my 20's. Although I did not continue working in that domaine, my love for the gym stayed and I continue to work out.
