• Scrub and assist in complex spine and pain management procedures while maintaining strict aseptic technique.
• Assist with microdiscectomy, laminectomy, anterior disc replacement (ADR), ESIs, MBBs, RFAs, and SI joint injections.
• Prepare sterile fields, Mayo stands, back tables, implants, and specialized spine instrumentation.
• Anticipate surgeon and provider needs to promote efficient workflow and optimal patient care.
• Perform surgical counts, draping, patient positioning, and assist during fluoroscopy-guided procedures.
• Assist with retraction, exposure, and instrument exchange during spine cases.
• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, wrap, sterilize, and distribute instrumentation using steam sterilization and Sterrad NX.
• Perform biological monitoring, quality assurance documentation, and maintain compliance with AAMI standards and infection prevention guidelines.
• Build surgeon preference trays and organize case carts.
• Ensure efficient room turnover and instrument availability.
