Kenneth Profitt-Bemister

• As an In-Hospital Program Specialist, I am accountable for developing safe, fun and engaging camp-style programs that meet the needs of campers and families at The Hospital for Sick Children.

As a Duty Coordinator I work closely with volunteers to engage and support as necessary to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for families. During the COVID19 pandemic, I have also been part of helping to modify and implement new safety measures and practices.

As in class support for the Gr. 3 classroom, I provided a helping hand during class assignments and helped with problem solving issues between the students.

As an In Hospital Intern at Sick Kids, I had an important role in helping bring fun and a camp experience to the children who are going through oncology treatment on the 8th floor.

As a Facilitator, I look after the children that are left in our care. I help provide snacks, recreational activity and help in having the children calm down for naps.

As Interim Receptionist, I helped handle late arrivals for children, directing mail to the appropriate staff and faculty as well as helping with the JICS website, and creating a welcoming environment for visitors and families.

With a fellow counsellor I lead various games and trained children in the proper use of a bow and arrow.

With a fellow counsellor and drama instructor, I lead numerous drama games and activities with varying groups and age ranges.
