  • Oversee a 38 bed Level 3 and 2 Critical care unit. With 150 FT nurses and 29 PT nurses and 3 social workers. Also manage clerks, PSWs and clinical externs.
  • Support staff through the development program to complete their critical care certificate
  • Oversaw the opening of 12 more critical care beds. I worked with many different disciplines to ensure proper equipment as present, Ipac and engineering protocols were met, proper education for all staff.
  • Actively participated in recruitment of staff to sufficiently increase the CCU workforce to help eliminated the use of agency and decrease overtime spending.
  • Co-Chair the CCU IDEEA committee. The committee ensure that protocols/policy and standards being rolled out within the critical care program as an IDEEA lens on it. To ensure that all staff and patients and families feel their voices are heard.
  • Participated in accreditations, family meeting, serious safety events and quantity reviews.
  • Implemented the DSM (decision support management) rounds and board within Oshawa CCU
  • Developed a staff lead wellness group focusing in on team morale and wellness.

  • Oversaw the reopening of the LHB CRCU after wave 1. Involving many disciplines from Ipac, maintains, health and safety, staffing and nursing and physician staff to ensure a smooth reopening.
  • Implemented the ED check in kiosks in both LHB and LHPP emergency departments.
