  • Founder and current volunteer manager of Firewise Anderson Springs, a Firewise USA-designated site since 2020. Anderson Springs is a Lake County neighborhood that was 90% destroyed in the 2015 Valley Fire
  • Educate residents about wildfire risk, home hardening and defensible space measures through community meetings, social media posts, and one-on-one consultations
  • Conduct home hardening and defensible space evaluations at neighborhood homes
  • Assist residents with understanding wildfire risk mitigation and implementing home hardening and defensible space measures
  • Work with and advise residents on large scale post-fire land clearing techniques and resources
  • Attend trainings for Firewise leaders in the Cobb Mountain area, including a one-day home hardening and defensible space training
  • Work with Cal Fire officials to schedule and conduct Cal Fire defensible space inspections for neighborhood
  • Work with county Code Enforcement to tag and mitigate hazardous vegetation parcels; have a deep understanding of county hazardous vegetation ordinance
  • Coordinated multiple community work party defensible space events. Managed contractors, Americorps crews, volunteers and tracking of NFPA grant funds
  • I am passionate about wildfire risk education and teaching people about the principles of home hardening and defensible space measures. I am in the process of sunsetting my longtime business (The Energy Alliance Association) and semi-retiring so that I can devote my time to wildfire education
