Investigator/Expert Opinion Coordinator

  • Conducting ethical and professional investigations of all forms of medical misconduct with the Professional Conduct Department of the provincial regulatory body of physicians in Alberta, Canada.
  • Actively recruits, manages and oversees over 200 peer physicians to provide impartial and fair file reviews of complaints concerning Standards of Care and/or Code of Ethics and Professionalism breaches.
  • Ensures databases are maintained, current and accurate.
  • Coordinates quality improvement strategies and initial program overhaul which effectively resolved 235 files within 13 months; a vast improvement from the 22 files for the two years prior.
  • Received significant budgetary increases as a result of programs improvements.
  • Liaises with legal counsel and assists with early resolution work stream.
  • Participates actively in professional interviews and as well as drafts formal resolution letters.

  • Conducted fast moving and complex investigations including physical and sexual abuse of children, serial violent crimes, domestic violence and undercover operations all of which required proactive, innovative and self-motivating traits.
  • Resolved classified and sensitive investigations within a strict time allotment.
  • Collaborated with local, state and federal agencies as a member of the Crime Gun Intelligence Unit to identify perpetrators and link criminal activities through investigation and identification of crime guns while also being a duly sworn federal agent.
  • Actively investigated 20-50 new child crimes cases a month and was tasked with training new detectives and assigned to a peer-review committee.
  • Conducted hundreds of victim/survivor, suspect and witness interviews.
