I’m an 18-year-old first-year nursing student in the Western-Fanshawe Collaborative Nursing Program at Western University. I’ve been working since I was 15, spending three years at Milestones, starting as a hostess and working my way up to head expo in the kitchen. In April 2024, while still working at Milestones, I also took on a seasonal role at Beverly Golf and Country Club as a pro shop worker, balancing both jobs throughout the summer. Juggling these roles taught me time management, adaptability, and the importance of staying organized in fast-paced environments.
Outside of school and work, I’m passionate about staying active and living a healthy lifestyle—it helps me feel like the best version of myself. I also love spending time with family and friends and getting outside whenever I can. As soon as I turned 18, I got my Smart Serve certification to build on my experience in the restaurant industry. I’m always looking for ways to grow, challenge myself, and make the most of every opportunity.
At 17, I moved to London, Ontario to begin my nursing studies at Western University. This transition required me to adapt to a new city, balance academics, work, and personal responsibilities, and build a new support system. Learning to manage my own schedule, stay disciplined, and adjust to an independent lifestyle has strengthened my resilience, problem-solving skills, and ability to thrive in new environments. This experience has helped me grow both personally and professionally, preparing me for the challenges of a fast-paced nursing career.
