  • Greet all visitors and residents who enter the home, ensuring they are confident in finding their way to their desired location. Answering the phones with a polite and professional manner, directing calls to the appropriate management or department. Ensure resident files are up to date with correct medical and billing information, both paper and electronic copy. Assist my management with filing all appropriate papers, so they can be found if needed for review or auditing.

  • Working throughout many homes, within different roles around the kitchens, my years with them has provided all my skills, and me as a person, and employee to develop. Starting as a server and working my way up positions to occasionally lead a kitchen, in supervisors’ absence as a cook. Tasks within this role include ensuring sanitary spaces, meeting specific for individual care plans, more specifically a diet need and working alongside a team to ensure all job requirements are complete. Leadership skills were developed with my progression of roles, as a cook not only was I to prepare safe meals, while keeping my team on task and progressing through their routines within each shift.

  • Working independently under faculty, I was responsible for the development of materials for youth students who visited the University. I developed a program, looking at different natural resources and issues they faced, aligning university style lessons and labs, with middle to high school curriculum. I took faculty feedback to tweak the programs to be refined, yet effective lessons before they were shared for future placement students to be further developed. This placement was self-motivated yet still had me working with the team mindset to allow for easy handoff to my faculty supervisors and following placement students.

  • Within this course, working alongside student body and faculty running the course, a monitoring plan for protected land was developed. Different recommendations for how to gain further funding for the lands protection and development was the student bodies top priority. The course allowed working with a diverse group of individuals and developing further communication skills. This course also allowed for further practice of research skills, and gaining new knowledge on how species may be monitored- plant or mammal.

  • Working within the aggregate industry allowed a much more independent growth period. All tasks within my assigned role were paced off my skill level and efficiency within the job. As a student I was required to communicate findings and abnormalities with both my supervisor and in their absence the site foreman. Temporarily working as the Quality Control supervisor when finishing out my term, I was entrusted with much more detail specific tasks. Such tasks of this role included the desk aspect of the job, which required great attention to detail when creating spec reports that was then shared with division general manager, sales management, and site foreman for alteration to production of aggregate.
