Gold Standard Healthcare is a nursing agency that provides much needed nursing care throughout Manitoba. Most of my experience with this nursing agency has been in emergency rooms in remote Manitoban Northern towns.

My responsibilities as a registered nurse in these ERs are not limited to emergency care but include many different areas that include but are not limited to the following list;

• Geriatric care
• Psychiatric care
• Emergency care
• Obstetrical and Gynecological care (in emergency situations)
• Neonatal care (in emergency situations)
• Pediatric care
• Acute and Chronic care
• Addictions
• Clinic care
• Blood work

Specific duties include but are not limited to;

• Providing patient care for improving health outcomes and enhancing patient satisfaction.
• Coordinating with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive care to patients.
• Ensuring patient safety by monitoring vital signs and administering medications.
• Enhancing patient recovery with effective wound care management.
• Improving patient comfort by efficiently managing pain and symptoms.
• Conducting health assessments for accurate diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Maintaining detailed patient records to ensure continuity of care.
• Fostering positive patient relationships by providing compassionate care and support.
• Monitoring patient progress for timely interventions and making adjustments in treatment as needed.
• Administering medications safely to achieve desired therapeutic effects.
• Implementing infection control protocols to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
• Administering medications via oral, IV, and intramuscular injections and monitoring responses.
• Enhancing patient satisfaction through effective communication, empathy, and timely responding to their needs.
• Collaborating with physicians to quickly assess patients and deliver appropriate treatment while managing rapidly changing conditions.
• Improving patient outcomes by providing high-quality nursing care and implementing evidence-based practices.
• Managing care from admission to discharge.
• Assessing patient conditions promptly upon admission to determine appropriate interventions and prioritize care needs.
• Managing patients recovering from medical or surgical procedures.
• Quickly responding to situations impacting safety and security to unit, actualizing crisis prevention interventions to control and de-escalate situations.

Ste Anne Hospital is a small rural hospital that provides the town of Ste Anne and it's surrounding communities with many different areas of care. Those areas include but are not limited to the following list;

The position as a registered nurse that I held there required me to gain the basic skills necessary to provide safe and holistic care in each of these areas.
