El Changarrito was a grocery store previously owned by my parents. Around age 8, they started taking me to the store and taught me cleaning skills, how to face merchandise, how to use a cash register, money handling skills, and most importantly customer service. At El Changarrito we strived to offer the best customer service possible. I was a volunteer at El Changarrito from 2014-2022. Throughout those 8 years of experience, I gained a lot of knowledge on how a business works, as well as knowing what it's like to be in a job environment. Volunteering at El Changarrito has made me aware of what is expected from an employee. Along the way, I also learned how to work with others and deal with different types of personalities in order to finish a task.
