Start my day by making sure that the store is ready to open and operate by 6:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, as well as 7 a.m. on Saturdays. All doors and gates are open, making sure all aisles are clean and stocked up as best as possible for customers to find what they need. Making sure the coffee is hot, we have cups available for our customers, the counter is clean, and the drawer is counted for cash transactions. Make sure that all of my coworkers are ready to start our day as best as we can by talking about our day to come, making sure everyone has their safety gear on, getting our drivers ready by double-checking their orders and routes, and helping them get on their way as soon as possible. Be at the counter all day to help walking customers, checking emails from customers for any bids needed, or helping with any product questions, as well as emails from coworkers from other branches. Answer the phone at the branch and my cell phone for any customer needs. Create purchase orders and transfers for any materials needed to fulfill existing and future orders. Pull orders for customers, help with shipping and receiving if needed, and jump on the forklift to unload or load trucks. Have all trucks and forklifts secured and parked, ready for the next day, as well as all orders pulled and ready for the next day. Make sure all doors and gates are closed, and that the end-of-day process is done before I leave for the day.
