Summary

Currently I’m working as a Swine Technician in Hylife located in Killarney, Manitoba, Canda which has a 5500 sow level farm since March 2023. I also attended a Swine Management training in Pipestone Minnesota, USA last June 24, 2021 – June 23, 2022. The farm has a 5000-sow level with a farrow to weaned operation. And also working as Swine technician in the Philippines for 8 years.

My aspiration is to be in an environment where I can contribute and share my learnings and knowledge from experiences. Simultaneously, I am eager to learn more for self-development to efficiently address the agency’s deliverables.

  • Responsible in daily chores; ie: Feeding, watering and animal health check.
  • Administer medication for treatment and prevention of disease and for unhealthy sow and piglets.
  • Assist sows in farrowing process.
  • Perform piglet day 1 procedures. (drying pigs, split suckling, cross fostering, etc)
  • Perform castration and rupture repair procedures.
  • Perform processing and piglet shot procedures.
  • Feed sows according to stage of lactation, trying to challenge them to eat more.
  • Remove dead animals daily and put in pickup area without crossing biosecurity line.
