Category and Assortment Strategy
- Develop strategic direction for the assortment planning and category in order to meet financial goals.
- Identify and grow emerging brands for our core customers
- Drive and execute brands’ floor space planning and allocation for all key locations.
- Determine seasonal transition and appropriate promotional strategies.
- Monitor sales performance on newly developed products, determine further sales opportunities based on results; select/delete assortments as appropriate.
- Evaluate ongoing sales performance with Vice President of Merchandising, brand partners, planning team, division and the distribution merchandising team.
- Partner and develop exclusives with the brand to cultivate rarity and increase demand with customers.
Achieve Financial Targets
- Develop financial objectives and targets for the team that focus on category, brand growth and profitability.
- Partner with the Planning Manager to monitor overall inventory levels.
- Identify and evaluate sales and gross margin opportunities at the department level.
People Development
- Identify, recruit, and develop the Merchant Team
- Encourage and support the development of talents; offer honest and constructive feedback to direct reports and business partners to foster people development
Brand Acquisition, Negotiation, Marketing
- Acquired new brands to expand product offering and exclusive products with favorable terms.
- Negotiated and secured brand placements in new store locations.
- Partnered with brand to create a customer oriented planogram for new boutique openings.
- Created and Founding Contributor of the first Masters of Time Exhibition in Macau and secured over 100 exclusive timepieces for VIP clients.
