For my addictions and mental health program, I was given the opportunity to work at Southeast Child and Family Services for my practicum placement. The goal during my placement was focused on creating a resource binder for clients that deal with mental health struggles and substance misuse issues. I shadowed a CFS worker for my 6-week duration and met clients during their visitations and attended their appointments for support. All the clients had different backgrounds and upbringings which brought more determination in me to help them through their healing journeys and point them in the correct direction.

For my culinary course in 2021, we were placed at different restaurants/hotels all around Winnipeg to gain cooking experience for our internships to eventually be hired as workers. My main tasks at the hotel would be to follow the daily schedules like preparing for the buffet with team members, assembling recipes for the chef, cleaning/organizing the kitchen, and setting up banquets. During my internship, I learned budgeting management for food costs and the dangers/risks of fire hazards and slips/falls in the kitchen.
