• As an Ironworker Journeyman, your primary duties include marking, positioning, and securing structural steel members to reinforce concrete or building structures.

• Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)

• Transport heavy metal pieces from the ground level to a higher location using tools like cranes or working with other team members to help position pieces correctly. Build steel or iron structural pieces and components when working on a project that involves a large structure like a commercial building, a bridge. Ensure proper placement, balance, and alignment of structural pieces by using levels, laser tools or plumb bobs.
