Joshua Green

ACE is a voluntary, after school program for high school students interested in Architecture, Construction Trades and Engineering. With guidance from trade mentors and school staff, the program helps students develop leadership skills and gives industry hands on experience to prepare for future careers in ACE fields. For three years I have participated in hands on learning, collaboration with industry experts and peer team work to present yearly at San Diego State University ACE conferences. I have at times led my peers, at times followed my peers and at times worked solely to present real world design and architectural projects for presentation to city leaders and my mentors at these conferences. The project presentations receive industry leader recognition and provide potential for scholarship awards. ACE is a hobby but I have developed tremendous leadership, social and team work skills as well as real world knowledge. I feel strongly these skills will ready me any future job.

• Unpaid experience as a high school student working concessions at football games to raise money for robotics club.
• Operating a cash box, using math skills to maintain correct cash count and make proper change for cash transactions.
• Quickly gather, organize and distribute food products for serving.
• On time, team player, heavy lifting, being on my feet for several hours at a time.
• Took and followed detailed directions from others.
• Worked in team environment to maintain high levels of productivity.
• Demonstrated adaptability by quickly adjusting to changing circumstances or unforeseen challenges during volunteer events.
