ACE is a voluntary, after school program for high school students interested in Architecture, Construction Trades and Engineering. With guidance from trade mentors and school staff, the program helps students develop leadership skills and gives industry hands on experience to prepare for future careers in ACE fields. For three years I have participated in hands on learning, collaboration with industry experts and peer team work to present yearly at San Diego State University ACE conferences. I have at times led my peers, at times followed my peers and at times worked solely to present real world design and architectural projects for presentation to city leaders and my mentors at these conferences. The project presentations receive industry leader recognition and provide potential for scholarship awards. ACE is a hobby but I have developed tremendous leadership, social and team work skills as well as real world knowledge. I feel strongly these skills will ready me any future job.
Acceptance into Grossmont Middle College High School
In my Junior year of high school I was accepted into GMCHS which is a high school geared toward high caliber students. It offers entrance to a high school program located on Grossmont College campus. This accellerated program is a high school honors program with concurrent enrollment in college. I am currently taking college courses for my major which is Engineering; I am on track to graduate as a senior in high school in June 2026 with an Associates of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. This school has opened up my future career choices and has allowed me immense opportunity to navigate the adult world at a younger age.
