Mobile Maintenance Reliability Engineer

  • Was part of the Mobile Maintenance Shovels and Drills Reliability Team responsible for the reliability and planned component replacement scheduling for a fleet of 2 CAT 7495 rope shovels, 6 CAT 6060 hydraulic shovels, and approximately 20 drills (PV271D/E's, DM45's, and D65's)
  • Worked a 14/14 schedule with 12-hour workdays and lived in a camp environment
  • Gained valuable experience in a mine environment bussing to an office on site
  • Regularly made trips into the pit to tag along for weekly PM inspections on 7495 rope shovels
  • Briefly worked with the NDT team on site and learned about various NDT techniques
  • Assisted Senior Reliability Engineer with day-to-day tasks such as updating PM sheets, sending out site wide reliability alerts, creating presentations, and helping on other fleet reliability projects
  • Conducted oil analysis for loaders, graders, haul trucks, dozers, shovels, excavators, and drills when the senior reliability engineer needed assistance

  • Assisted the senior reliability engineer with a variety of tasks including investigative reports, failure analysis, data analysis, maintenance sheet updates, developing new maintenance sheets, updating grease and lubrication booklets and using JDE software daily
  • Used data from telematics, oil analysis, and past repair work orders to assist in the investigation of failures of numerous different components
  • Investigated common reoccurring issues such as turbo failure in third party engines, high iron level in the oil of 3508 engines, and failed valvetrain components in third party engines
