Repair, replace, adjust, and align components of machinery and equipment. Test-run repaired machinery and equipment to verify adequacy of repairs. Apply protective materials to equipment, components, and parts to prevent worn and corrosion. Maintenance Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear. Weld to repair broken metal parts and assemble new equipment metal fabrications. Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs on low and high voltage. Maintenance and repair on conveyor systems, filling, and packaging machinery. Maintain a log sheet of repairs and maintenance and request approvals for repairs. Strong ability to determine causes of operating errors. Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Confer with operators and observe, test, and evaluate operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction. Retrieve codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery. Install/ replace machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand tools or power tools.
