Passionate and persistent in anything I do, I haven't had much experience in any job field that really feels career-oriented for me, specifically. I get a little bit of that feeling working where I am now, with parks and recs, being outside, and interacting with people. I strongly believe it highlights my two favorite things: interacting with people and doing outside, hands-on work.
Park maintenance, including bathrooms, playgrounds, baseball fields, soccer fields, and recreation centers.
Landscaping, such as line trimming, hedge trimming, tree trimming, leaf blowing, and grass revitalization.
Collected leaves, weeds and debris from the garden area for disposal or composting purposes.
Sprinklers, changing sprinkler heads when broken or needing to be fixed, and the use of valves and electronic clocks to control.
Ensure drywall sits flush with the framing of the building, whether it's residential or commercial.
Use 1/2-inch cardboard to thicken the stud, or a planer to shave the stud to fall back at least an inch or 3/4.
Work with very strict deadlines, and very high demands, with minimum room for flexibility and error.
Working with a plethora of tools like a level, laser, hammer, compressor, nail gun, impact drill, saw, and a planer.
Stocked shelves and supplies and organized displays to focus customer attention on specific items.
Kept calm and applied strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills to resolve conflicts.
I learned how to be very flexible and attentive to people who needed my help, whether it was my department or not.
I was put in situations where I had to communicate with my coworkers how we would delegate certain tasks.
