IOC
  • While employed with Rothlochston, I worked on my tools and as a Supervisor over 10-16 welders and millwrights
  • We were responsible for rebuilding the Drying fans for IOC
  • This included disassembling the old fans right to the existing duct work, Removal of all casings and bearings and motors
  • Then re-Installing the newly designed fans
  • Using transits for levelling and aligning pedestals for the bearings and housings to sit on
  • This job required extensive gouging, cutting and welding using SMAW and FCAW for welding processes
  • A lot of rigging with chain falls and come alongs

Pipe Welder

North Atlantic Refining Limited / Braya Fenewable Fuels

  • While employed by NARL/Braya My main role was a pipe welder
  • We fabricated new spools for new construction and maintenance work, Pre Fabbing for shutdowns and prepping work areas for work to be completed in the field
  • I was exposed to a variety of work from working with boilermakers, Ironworkers, Pipefitters, Millwrights, and many other trades in one area
  • We repaired vessels, boilers, boiler tubes, and many other components used in the refining industry
  • I was also exposed to 'hot tapping', a procedure used to tie new piping into existing in-service piping system
  • We used cranes and boom trucks and other forms of mechanical lifting devices to place are piping and valves in the pipe racks or on the vessels
  • This position ended due to the Covid-19 pandemic closing the refinery March 2020, I returned back to the refinery October 2021

  • While working for can pro industries my roll as Maintenance Supervisor, I was responsible to preparing and planning work for approx
  • 30 workers, involving fitting, welding, fabrication and repairs to old equipment
  • Also responsible for millwrights and work around conveyor systems, pump rebuilds and repairs
  • Constant change to improve plant reliability and production abilities, conducting daily, weekly and monthly safety meetings, planning outages and the work scope involved, dealing with flights and other travel requirements required to access remote location also attending teams meetings and daily production meeting!
