Coordinated Associate Governmental Program Analyst versed in communicating and collaborating across all organizational levels. Successful at a variety of Administrative and Executive level tasks at the independent and team level and excited to further expand personal skillset.
As an Associate Governmental Program Analyst under the Regulations, Training, and PRA Section, I have independently overseen a wide variety of PRA assignments, which have required effective communication with several different bureaus within the CJIS Division to accurately respond to and provide Department public records. Several hundred formal requests have been received, filed, effectively tracked and responded to by routing requests to appropriate data holders and collaborating on appropriate responses to the requests. Interpretation and application of Government Code exemptions are consistently employed and collaborated on with the Office of General Council. Assignments are completed on time through effective communication skills with my direct manager and team, other CJIS bureaus, and other sections within the Department of Justice. These include establishing meetings, sending requests for clarification, follow up requests for requested services, and sending deadline reminders in a professional and friendly manner. Knowledge of several databases maintained by the Department and applicable exemptions for the data housed in them are used to effectively and consistently respond to these requests. Training of new and intermittent employees of current workload procedures and updating of those training materials and memoranda are constantly performed.
As a Staff Services Analyst under the Legislation, Training and Policy Section, I have undertaken a wide variety of Legislative analysis assignments, which have required effective communication with several different bureau's within the CJIS Division to accurately capture fiscal and policy impacts. Summaries of multiple hundred Assembly and Senate Bills have been written, filed, and submitted for assignments that must be diligently tracked and completed with due dates kept in mind. Expanded work with the Public Records Act coordinator has seen multiple data requests routed to appropriate data holders, and response letters drafted and sent to the requestors with responsive records. All work under the Legislation and Public Records Act sections have been properly recorded for record keeping purposes. To ensure assignments are completed on time, communication skills with my direct manager and team, other CJIS bureaus, and direct partners and customers of the CJIS division are employed. These include establishing meetings, sending requests for clarification, follow up requests for requested services, and sending deadline reminders in a professional and friendly manner. Continued to maintain the Legislative work log for my section, and recording and assessing impacts of bills from assignments that were not originally assigned to me in a timely manner.
As a student assistant I was responsible for maintaining the Legislation team's work log, detailing each individual legislative assignment that was assigned to the group. Other tasks included taking notes for weekly legislative update meetings, legislative hearings, and other work project related meetings for office use. To become familiarized with the legislative process, low CJIS impact bills were given to me to analyze and perform mock-analyses of for comparison to other analysts responses. Non-legislative work assignments included basic overview and assignments from the Public Requests Act coordinator, including basic response letter drafting and tracking correspondence between bureaus. During periods of relative downtime, I reviewed completed work of my section's analysts to familiarize myself with upper-level work in my section.
As an Associate Lead, my duties expanded to include entry level management duties, such as performing store safety checks, handing out duties in a respectful manner to other associates, and taking general responsibility for customer interactions in the store. I was required to adjust our inventory numbers and record the financial impact of these changes. I was required to fill out our sales goals and duties for the each individual day on the community guide. I was held responsible for ensuring the shipments of pet product we received were fully dispersed and recorded in the inventory database when finished. While working as an associate lead I was also forklift certified, and regularly used the forklift to perform vital inventory management tasks.
When I began working at Petsmart as an Inventory Associate, my basic duties included unloading product off the weekly or bi-weekly truck and dispersing the product throughout the store in an organized and cleanly manner. When the time came for the store planner resets, I would conduct the required tasks, such as moving shelving and product in the required fashion. I was given the basic understanding of how to operate a cash register to assist in customer checkout. Basic skills in customer service, problem solving, team participation, and product management were honed in this position.
