John "Trey" Nilson, III

I occasionally pet sit for my neighbor's dog, Winnie. Usually I will come over to their house at around 8 pm and stay the night

• Prepared food and water following instructions from pet owners.
• Gave animals proper attention to promote secure environment in owner's absence.
• Managed pet safety and wellness in owners' absence by securing yard gates and removing items that could make pets sick.

• I am a student athlete at Loyola High School, involved in both the Water Polo and Swim teams
• I was on the Freshman team my Freshman year and the JV team my Sophomore year and was involved in club water polo in the spring and summer of those last two years, playing for Shore Aquatics in Long Beach
• I have been on the Loyola JV swim team my freshman and sophomore years and plan to continue that this winter and spring on the varsity team
• I also participate in Beach Cities Swimming, a year long swim club
• Doing these sports at school and for club has taught me the importance of managing my time with homework, sports and my social life as well as being part of a team and cooperating with others

• I was involved in a program called PEERS, which teaches kids with attention and learning disabilities (like Autism, ADHD, etc) social skills and social interaction
• I was a student in this program in the fall of my sophomore year and had the privilege to come back to be a mentor to the other teens
• My job was to role play being a PEERS student again and demonstrate effective conversation in social situations
• I am eager to return as a Mentor again this coming spring
