With over 24 years of service at the California Highway Patrol, I contributed to public safety, specializing in infrastructure security, explosives detection, and dignitary protection. My role involved assessing physical security measures, aiding agencies in emergency action and emergency operations planning, bomb threat mitigation, rendering safe IEDs, conducting criminal investigations, and managing the operations of a bomb squad and explosives detection K9 unit. My work protected California's vital infrastructure, government officials, and visiting dignitaries while promoting collaboration with federal agencies, allied teams, and stakeholders. I developed and delivered training programs on bombing prevention, IED recognition, and explosive detection K9 deployment, empowering personnel across the department and state agencies. My contributions extended to SWAT team support for explosive breaching, IED mitigation, and robotic operations. As a guest speaker at national and international workshops, I shared insights into homemade explosives mitigation.
