Work History

Electrical Engineer

OSI Maritime Systems
2018.10 - Current
  • Led the design and development of low voltage power distribution systems, ensuring they perform well and meet industry standards and client needs.
  • Worked closely with teams from Software, Systems, Mechanical, and Production to integrate and improve power distribution, network management, and low voltage battery management systems.
  • Provided direction and support to different teams, helping to solve problems and improve project results.
  • Trained and mentored two junior electrical engineers, helping them develop their skills and learn about system integration and power distribution.
  • Developed detailed electrical schematics and cable harness drawings using SolidWorks Electrical and AutoCAD to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Carried out Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to check that systems work correctly, finding and fixing any power distribution issues.
  • Managed the development and testing of prototypes, making sure new technologies were ready for product launches.
  • Reviewed network architecture to make sure it had the necessary redundancy and met IEC standards, improving system reliability and efficiency.

Education

Bachelor of Applied Science, Co-op - Electrical Engineering

Skills

  • Systems Integration and Coordination
  • Low Voltage Power Distribution
  • Cross-functional Team Leadership
  • Mentoring and Training
  • Electrical Systems Design and Development
  • FAT Testing and Troubleshooting
  • Prototyping and Validation Processes
  • Project Management and Stakeholder Collaboration
  • SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD, JIRA

Accomplishments

  • During my co-op term at Cadex, I worked on improving the hardware design of the automobile battery analyzer equipment. I was able to find a way to achieve the same electrical behavior using half the number of the components. I researched and modified the latest battery discharger schematic and 4-layer PCB. This resulted in saving $1/board for 1K+ qty of board production per year.
