I have 20 years of progressive leadership experience, including eight years as a senior executive. I have an MBA, CPA. I have worked in the public service / not-for profit sector most of my career. Risk management has been the key focus of my executive roles, be it legal, reputational, financial, operations or human resources. I have worked with private and public boards, serving as Board Secretary and chief parliamentarian. I have also successfully lead negotiations in collective bargaining. Currently I serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) for an independent school. I oversee the entire finance portfolio, Legal, Risk Management, Banking, Insurance, Cyber, Contract/Lease Management, Human Resources, Payroll, Records, and Facilities and Investment management. In collaboration with the Head of School/CEO, I operationalized the strategic plan. Key to my success in managing such a wide portfolio is my management mantra; that both relationships and tasks are important, so too is the order. Additionally, my sensitivity to the cultural differences within each organization and awareness that building a shared capacity requires the team to buy into adopting the best practices to achieve operational excellence. Strategically, I work with members of the ELT to build our strategic plan and ensure alignment with the Board priorities. I ensure each department is part of the process and we live it in our decision making. Operationally, my experience includes building and managing budgets from $30 million to $300 million. My educational excellent includes scoring in the top 5 percentile of 17,000 North American graduate students in a comprehensive MBA examination.
