Volunteer Interests

  • Sherbrooke Nursing Home, Engaged residents in activities and assisted during special events.
  • Cosmopolitan Industries, Assisted employees with sorting paper in their recycling department, as well as stuffed envelopes containing value coupons from various companies, within Saskatoon. I also went lawn bowling with many employees with special needs, who work at Cosmopolitan Industries.
  • During my Grade 12 Christian Ethics hours, I had the privilege of participating in E.D. Feehan High School’s Children’s Christmas Party and Special Olympics Day. These two profoundly meaningful experiences opened my eyes to the kind of career I feel called to pursue—one rooted in service, empathy, and support for others.
  • My passion for helping others is also deeply personal. My son, now 22, was born with Tetralogy of Fallot and Laryngomalacia. At just 2½ months old, he underwent open-heart surgery in Edmonton. Over the years, he was diagnosed with Borderline ADHD, High Functioning Autism (Asperger’s Syndrome), Sensory Processing Disorder, and developmental delays. Navigating his complex medical and developmental needs required unwavering dedication, and I decided to stay home with him during his formative years. This choice, while resulting in an employment gap, reflects my commitment to caregiving and advocacy.
  • These life experiences have shaped my values and aspirations. They’ve taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of inclusive support systems. I am now eager to channel these lessons into a meaningful career where I can make a difference in the lives of others—especially those facing challenges similar to what my family has overcome.
