I recently graduated from Ontario Tech University with a BA (Hons) in Communication and Digital Media Studies. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I developed a profound understanding of the impact of media on modern society and the complex issues surrounding digital communication.
My academic journey peaked in my fourth year under the mentorship of Dr. Sharon Lauricella, where I deeply engaged with the ethical concerns and societal implications of media. A significant part of my learning was my participation in a "digital detox" experiment, which gave me critical insights into media consumption's psychological and social effects. This experience highlighted the dual nature of digital media—its capacity to connect and isolate- and spurred my interest in exploring media literacy and communication ethics.
These academic experiences have equipped me with a critical lens to examine the challenges of digital communication, motivating my continued pursuit of solutions in these areas through graduate studies in Social Practice and Innovation.
