  • A survey of Bouc-Wen hysteretic models applied to piezo-actuated mechanical systems: modeling, identification, and control, Jingnan Cai, Wei Dong, Ryozo Nagamune, 01/01/23, Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, Presented the latest BW model applications and systematically investigated different BW models, identification methods, and control strategies and provided valuable in selecting appropriate modeling approaches and control methods for various application demands.
  • Hybrid Controller of a Linear Piezoelectric Walking Stage Relying on Stack/Shear Piezoelectric Actuators, Jingnan Cai, Fangxin Chen, Yongzhuo Gao, Wei Dong, 01/01/21, Precision Engineering, Developed a hybrid coarse/fine operating control strategy for a novel linear piezoelectric stage to achieve high efficiency and precise positioning, utilizing two types of piezoelectric actuators. Employed modal analysis of finite element analysis (FEA) using ANSYS software to determine the theoretical maximum driving frequency.
  • Design of a Linear Walking Stage based on Two Types of Piezoelectric Actuators, Jingnan Cai, Fangxin Chen, Lining Sun, Wei Dong, 01/01/20, Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, Proposed a novel double-foot linear walking-type piezoelectric stage with high resolution (30 nm) and self-locking capability. Developed the theoretical model of the stage and verified its accuracy by comparing it with simulation results from ANSYS Workbench (SolidWorks) and MATLAB Simulink.
  • A Generalized Mathematical Model for the Bridge-Type and Lever-Type Mechanism, Fangxin Chen, Jingnan Cai, Wei Dong, Zhijiang Du, 01/01/19, Intelligent Robotics and Applications, Established a generalized mathematical model for bridge-type and lever-type amplifiers, achieving prediction errors within 4.5% for the displacement amplification ratio by comparing theoretical and FEA results.
