JINCHENG LI

This portfolio is an exploration of the lives of individuals situated at the lower end of the socioeconomic spectrum. It was created over a period of approximately two months, during which time I conducted photography on Shanghai's public transportation system, specifically the subway. My camera was used to document the manner in which individuals navigate the city with haste. During this time, I was also fortunate to gain insight into social diversity through interactions with various individuals, and I encountered instances of unfriendliness. This experience has enhanced my abilities in terms of perspective, lighting, and shutter speed, ISO, and aperture control.
