Mammoth Lakes

Summary

I am a highly qualified K through 8 teacher with 25 years of experience at one district - Mammoth Unified. My career highlights include being an elected member of our middle school leadership team since 2020, school site council member at both the elementary and middle schools. Additionally, the middle school nominated me to lead curriculum implementations for ELA, history, and ELD programs, and they also selected me to receive SEL training so I could lead, facilitate and implement SEL activities for my middle school. For over 15 years as the 8th grade coordinator, I was entrusted to fundraise, plan, chaperone and execute a $23,000 overnight excursion from Mammoth to Manzanar, from the CA Science Museum to The Museum of Tolerance. Pool party complete with lifeguards and other gems made this a revered tradition for which I received many accolades. I have been a volleyball coach, ASB coordinator, and was honored to teach at all four of the schools within my district: 1st, 3d, and 5th grades at Mammoth Elementary School, 7th and 8th grade Core (ELA/History - 2 hour blocks) at Mammoth Middle School, the drama club coach at Mammoth High School allowed me to produce plays and musicals for years. Although I have left many honors out, another point of pride was when I was welcomed to teach at our continuation high school.

Team work is essential, but my passion is helping students realize and fulfill their potentials COVID online teaching was a life changing experience! I was moved by working intimately with students in break out rooms and my high state test scores helped my middle school be honored three times as a CA distinguished school

I love teaching and I love teaching online! My life became topsy-turvey the past five years, and I look forward to finalizing my outstanding career efforts with an online structure that will accommodate my family’s recovery
