Alternative Practicum Gr. 7/8 Nexus Program (Spring 2011)

• Worked individually with students in several areas of the curriculum, with main focus in mathematics and language.
• Monitored student behaviour and intervened when necessary using behaviour management techniques.
• Sat in on case review meetings with Pathways and group home workers while they created transition plans for students switching schools or moving on to high school.
• Reviewed student IEPs and collaborated with the classroom teacher to better understand students’ exceptionalities, their strengths and needs, their individual backgrounds, and past educational experiences.
