Work History

Health care aide

Alberta health services
01.2019 - Current
  • As a health care aide in the Tofield and Westlock LTC’s, I have added to the skills developed over the years to include a stronger teamwork model and understanding of care in a facility setting, and a better understanding of person centered care. I have deepened my understanding of AHS core values and how to promote those in my day to day workplace. I am current in all my courses on MLL and connect care, all of which really helped fine tune me as a health care aide. I also joined the Back care team to assist fellow workers in providing care that is worker safe. I am enrolled in the Health care aide Directory.

Health Care Aide

Bayshore home Health
01.2007 - 01.2019
  • In this position I was the first face of the company to my clients. Quick thinking and adaptability were necessary as client’s needs changed quickly and frequently. My position demanded excellent management of time and efficiency to administer care on a very tight schedule to multiple clients each day in their homes. Written and verbal skills were used daily to document care and concerns, as well as to co-ordinate with other health care staff and family. Absolute professionalism and client confidentiality was essential due to sensitive client information. But most important to me was the compassionate care and relationship each client received daily.

Assistant Manager

McDonalds
01.2002 - 01.2003
  • As assistant manager, I was given a great deal of responsibility and trust as I opened the restaurant unaided. I had access to the safe for cash counting, setting up and closing down of registers, and putting together the deposit bags at the end of my shift. Great organization and documenting skills were needed for restocking the proper amounts for each day and documenting additional stock needed for upper manager to order. I was responsible for up to five staff, including scheduling their breaks. As an efficient and quick learner, I was promoted to team leader in my second month of employment, and began Management training and Responsibilities in third month of employment.
