  • Project highlights include 34.5KV Substation construction, 205,000m cable tray, 2,000,000m cable and 243,000m of electric heat trace installed
  • Leadership provided overseeing 300+ personnel
  • The role was a multi-faceted balance between providing leadership to the team for construction execution, and as a contributor to Governance and Leadership to the overall Fort Hills Leadership Team

  • Kearl Tank Farm; A $50,000,000 E&I Project, As the E&I project manager responsible for construction execution and leadership for the craft work force of 400+ personnel
  • Kearl Tank Farm is the multi-discipline brown field tie-in scope for the Kearl Expansion Project
  • Criteria for success included meeting scheduling commitments to the client, and managing SIMOPS, executing the work simultaneously within a live operating plant with a focus on keeping people safe
  • Management role enabling visits to the work "on the front line" and sharpen / develop skills necessary to operate in chaos, when quick and informed decisions are required to mitigate downtime and reinforce productivity
  • 34.5kv substation construction, 12,000m of cable tray, 325,000m of cable and 29,000m of electric heat trace installed
  • One success of this project was integrating the decommissioned 5kv temporary power system from a previous phase of construction to suit our current needs and designing a stand alone gas detection power shut down and realizing a savings of approximately $1,000,000 to the client

  • PCL was breaking new and innovative ground with permanent modular construction (PMC), an industry building practice that is rapidly gaining popularity.
  • It was at this facility where I provided leadership in the Kearl Module rebuild.
  • All modules shipped from Korea had to be cut apart in the US and shipped in pieces to Edmonton.
  • The state of Montana no longer accepted the module travelling through their state at the oversized loads they were.
  • The biggest challenge was keeping schedule due to this catastrophic change for transportation of completed rebuild modules up highway 63 to Fort MacMurray to Kearl site.

  • Key Leader at Shell Scotford UE-1 RHC project where accountabilities included supervision of 100+ field personnel executing activities related to construction of 35kv substation.
  • As project progressed and leadership responsibilities grew, I became responsible for all LOTO for 4000 person workforce with 40+ lockout tagout employees, ensuring safety of jobsite.
  • Also responsible for planning and executing motor bump and loop check programs related to pre-commissioning activities.

  • As supervisor, I oversaw installation of electrical, instrumentation, high voltage, fiber optic and electrical heat trace cable for Coker Replacement Area.
  • Applied strong leadership talents and problem-solving skills to maintain team efficiency and organize workflows.
