Summary

I have had the pleasure of being the Kizhaay Anishnaabe Niin Coordinator (I am a Kind Man) for nearly 2 years. This program is recognized through the court system as equivalent to the PARS program. My work consists of daily check-ins, working with parol officers, restorative justice workers and facilitating men's circles for a 12 week program. I keep accurate and up to date notes on each client and report to their workers as required. On a quarterly basis, I organize sweat lodge ceremonies and fasting camps for the men who attend my program as part of their healing and becoming better men for themselves, their families and community. My program's focus is on helping men on their healing journey and bringing awareness to ending violence towards women and girls.
