Dear Sir/Mrs., I am an eager and qualified candidate for this position. I have considerable experience in customer service and working with the public. I find providing quality and proficient service to be satisfying and rewarding. I look forward to discussing the details of this position. In addition to my resume, I would like to give a brief description of my work experience and how I would apply my skills as part of your team. Much of my work experience has been in customer service. As a high school and college student I was employed in restaurants. As well as retail. In the restaurant industries I worked closely with the public. As a manager I came to understand the power of positive customer service. From being a host then working my way up to General Manager, I advanced my work experience. Though the environment is vastly different I have applied the customer service skills I gained working in restaurants. As a General Manager I was tasked with ongoing projects dealing with substantial amounts of information. For example, handling food cost operations into a database. While these situations seemed daunting, I was able to maintain perspective and focus by recognizing the satisfaction of quality because of attention to detail. As a manager, I have amassed experience performing in various demanding situations. On a busy evening with many tables and large parties I performed the ultimate multitasking. Long wait times in the kitchen, dissatisfied guests, spills, and monitoring of alcohol consumption are issues I encounter daily. While this can result in a stressful atmosphere, the most important part of my job performance is a genuine smile. With patience and organization, I can direct the flow of my restaurant and the mood of the guests. While working in the service industry I have improved my interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills. My position requires me to be in control of the restaurant and be aware of the needs of all my guests. It was up to me and the servers to coordinate teamwork and assess situations. This job has been rewarding and often fun but not without difficulties. Thank you for taking the time to consider my application. I look forward to meeting you to further discuss this opportunity. At your convenience you can contact me by email. Kind, Regards, Jennifer Kendall
