I have an extensive and diverse clinical background and I have worked in a regional management role with NL Health Services, Eastern Zones for the last five years. I have demonstrated success influencing and leading change and I possess excellent communication skills. I am confident that my experience, education and personal qualities make me an ideal candidate for this position. In 2020, I completed a Master of Science degree through Dalhousie University (Post-professional, Practice Leader) and I graduated with a 4.0 GPA. I have extensive and diverse experience as a Clinical Occupational Therapist, having worked in acute care, long term care and community in rural and urban settings. In my current role as Ergonomic Program Coordinator, I regularly provide assessment, consultation and support to management and staff in clinical and non-clinical environments throughout the Eastern Zones. This unique perspective would be invaluable when engaging and working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders in the scope of this position. I have proven success as a manager, championing and leading change in several key initiatives including the safe patient/resident handling (SPRH) program and the manual material handling (MMH) program roll-outs in NL Health Services. As a leader with many years of working on interdisciplinary teams, I excel at intervening in highly complex and sensitive situations that require conflict resolution and change management. I possess enhanced skills in the areas of communication, collaboration, problem-solving and I have a keen ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. I am also an active member of NL Health Services Psychological Rapid Response Team. Since 2022, I have been a part-time instructor and accreditation lead for the Rehabilitation Assistant Program at the College of the North Atlantic in St. John’s, NL. My success in this position for the last two years can be contributed to my attention to detail, commitment to quality and my skills in organization, time management and collaboration. The practical skills developed from my professional masters degree have been invaluable to my success as a manager. Leadership and communication skills in particular have enabled me to successfully set strategic direction and achieve objectives within my current portfolio. I am committed to the LEADS framework and I completed the Transformational Leadership training with NL Health Services.
