Skills And Qualifications
I have excelled at the ability to perform multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and precision. While working in a mill process environment where upsets can occur at any given moment, it is very useful to be able to prioritize work load and manage time accordingly. I know how to manage my time to ensure that my work load is completed with extra time to spare on project work or to take on something new to help out the team., With our Mill Operator Training program we engage with people from Northern communities and train them in different areas around the mill, in doing so we help them work towards a potential career within the company. Having many of these students each year has assisted me in strengthening my leadership skills, making sure to teach them on the importance of a good safety culture, especially within an industrial facility., Working in an industrial environment and in a facility that is secluded has assisted me in building great communication skills. Working in the Metallurgy department allowed me to interact with many other departments (Operations, Maintenance, Environment, Chem Lab, Power Engineers), which strengthened my ability to communicate with others. This was very useful as it helped build strong bonds from department to department, allowing us all to work towards the same goal., I am able to work well both independently and within a group environment. I am very efficient in the work that I do and am confident in the results that I obtain through analysis.
