  • Acting designate in charge daily, from 7:00AM-9:00AM. In charge of opening the centre, ensuring staff have arrived on time and ratio's are met and maintained at all times.
  • Responsible for leading and organizing all bus transfers for children, to and from the daycare and neighboring schools.
  • Time manage and cover all staff breaks from 9:00AM-11:00AM.
  • Assist supervisor and assistant supervisor in editing observations (pedagogy) on the Storypark app and ensuring the observations are submitted for each child, on a weekly and monthly basis, as outlined by AQI and UCCC requirements and guidelines.
  • Conduct centre tours for potential new families, in the absence of the supervisor or assistant supervisor.
  • Lead and work alongside staff, in designing classrooms to meet licensing requirements, that reflect a welcoming, inclusive and safe learning environment for all staff, children and families.
  • Review City of Toronto, Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI) requirements with staff and provide guidance and support to ensure requirements are not only met, but surpassed in preparation for inspections.
  • Support supervisor and assistant supervisor as well as front line staff, in preparation and planning for P.A days, march break and summer camp.
  • Cover staff when needed in all current classrooms, working with children ranging from 1.5-12 years of age.
  • Teach alongside teams of 2 or more staff members when covering, to provide exceptional programming based on children's interests, through play-based learning opportunities and pedagogical teaching approaches that reflect UCCC'S current program statement and Ministry of Education guidelines.
  • Assist staff and children throughout the day with daily tasks, including children with special needs and exceptionalities, to ensure all individual needs are met.
  • Highly knowledgeable of children's individual medical plans (IMP), individual anaphylaxis plans (IAP) and individual support plans (ISP), to ensure and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
