  • Oversee maintenance for 18+ Sysco broadline buildings and all 1,300+ pcs of fleet equipment including straight trucks, tractors and trailers
  • Enforce both provincial and federal regulations for buildings, refrigeration systems (ammonia, freon and CO2), generators, MHE and fleet equipment
  • Assist in creating and enforcing Sysco maintenance policies and best practices throughout the enterprise
  • Implement CMMS system (Sprocket) into all Canadian locations to track and monitor maintenance activities from a corporate dashboard and reporting
  • Implement and enforce Sysco new pay policies, CORA and Procurement Express Pay systems, work with field to address training and system issues with IDS and Sprocket
  • Implement and enforce eRSM (ammonia refrigeration safety management) system as well as customizing program for Canada to meet the different requirements than the US market

  • Build annual CAPEX budgets with the CABL companies with stack ranked priority from life safety to minor repairs/replacement generally averaging $15M across the CABL
  • Work with the field to create business cases for CIP eligible projects and provide approvals through our corporate CIP system
  • Work with our Sysco Construction division to assist in planning projects for AOP. Create scope of project and approx costing analysis
  • Work with Construction to manage capital projects both from construction and facility capital plans (roofs, reno's, major racking projects, LED lighting, Solar project, refrigeration etc.)
  • Created a minimum lighting strategy for interior and exterior lighting of buildings taking both the corporate standards and our local minimum regulations in each province
  • Support sites with OPEX analysis and financial reporting to the field to target expense rationalization and identify opportunities for reductions

Projects Beyond Scope:

  • Act as the corporations MHE subject matter expert to assist with all activities around material handling equipment including specifications of all equipment, equipment set up and problems in the field, working with vendors to create service recalls and product improvements as well as negotiating and enforcing warranties
  • Worked for 1 year with Accenture on MHE business plan for replacement periods, usage and right sizing equipment at NABL sites, maintenance intervals and service requirements
  • Created business case for Lithium Ion battery transformation from lead acid that will involve all sites in North America. Headed up procurement requirements, testing, savings calculations and equipment selection for new green field builds (batteries, chargers etc.)
  • Provide an analysis of all transportation fleet equipment for Canada and create a business case to procure tractors, trailers, straight trucks etc. for all CABL sites based on age, rentals in fleet and business changes in the field
  • Create business case for fleet equipment and have it presented to capital committee for approvals. In the 3 years we have been able to replace more than 40 % of our fleet due to extended life cycles in the future that stretched assets by years over manufacturer EOL
  • Assist in our yearly analysis of our fleet and drivers for our Insurance requirements
  • Work with risk management in Houston to sort out fleet insurance claims related to accidents in the last year since Canada lost their insurance adjustment company during Houston's insurance negotiations (oversight)
  • Work with Sysco Corporate engineers on the EZ Delivery Project and work directly with Fusion Duo (pallet truck) vendor to negotiate parts distribution agreements, warranty terms and advise vendor on product improvements after various tests conducted in Riverside California.
  • Advise and work with the field on the standardization of center ride pallet trucks. Assist in creating the spec of this equipment to replace end rider pallet trucks due to safety concerns. Work with Sysco engineers to set up truck parameters to increase efficiency while increasing safety.
  • Created reach truck leasing turn back program with Raymond to reduce expenses related to equipment being returned to vendor which also streamlined the process
  • Lead the MHE telematics initiative to compare systems to be installed on all fork equipment
  • Participate in the iWarehouse Telematics project to assist in data gathering, process creation, equipment inspection list generation for pre start up, customizing reporting for usage, collision detection and thresholds etc.
