Lead and supervise a team of six personnel during summer movements, managing complex timelines and coordinating transportation for thousands of cadets across the region. Maintain operational continuity during unforeseen challenges such as this past summer during the Air Canada strike, rapidly adjusting plans and securing alternate transportation solutions.   • Ensure that the Ship’s Log and OOW Notebook were completed and up-to-date, as per RCN and Transport Canada regulations.
  • Responsible to the OIC for the safety, security, appearance, and operation of the 33 meter and 210-ton ship.
  • Exercise command of all personnel onboard, except for the OIC, including the five RCN NCMs assigned to the ship for the deployments, including overseeing Senior Cadet/Staff Cadet OJT development with nautical and seamanship skills, per deployment.

  • Plot navigation courses, coordinating with Joint Search and Rescue Centre – Pacific Region when conducting joint rescues, ensuring the closest vessel is first on scene.
