Summary

Currently, I am a Food and Beverage Associate at California's Great America in Santa Clara, CA. What I have learned by working here is about communication skills, food handling, and food safety, team collaboration, and how important it is to be a lot more helpful to the guests, others on the team, officials, and other individuals around me.

When it comes to team collaboration, when I am conversing with other associates, and other officials, it has made me a lot more observant when it comes to having different conversations with other people and understanding different viewpoints others have pertaining to different situations that arise. Pertaining to any number of tasks, I can multitask at a certain rate, in a certain amount of time.

Other events I like to engage in are community service and volunteer work. Being involved in my community, I am very encouraging and passionate about the work that I do. I try to help out others whenever I can, and when I am able to.

  • Although I do currently work here, the hours will now be given only on the weekends, but that will only be on certain weekends and not every single one, as many associates are hired and scheduled at different times/days.
  • Working as a Food and Beverage Associate, I have learned how to properly handle food, what are the regulations, how to go about them, especially when it comes to the food preparation to then be served to the guests.
  • Team collaboration again is a strong suit that increases as the days go by, which has helped me at times be more talkative, so I know exactly what my task is, and how to go about it.

  • I volunteered with the community service events, and the organization itself.
  • There were many events where we would really get involved in the community of San Jose, whether that was on campus, or with the homeless. We helped in any way we could.
