• Responsible for the safe operation of the facilities, this includes managing a crew of 8 operations staff

• Responsible for the plant scheduling, which includes vacation requests, scheduling overtime as well as personnel for extra project execution

• Forecast and schedule all bulk chemical deliveries for the facility

• Responsible for the emergency response program, which includes scheduling drills as well as taking the Person In Charge (PIC) role during active emergencies

• Review and authorize all contractor and maintenance permits using an electronic Permit To Work System (ePTWS). Responsible for ensuring all requirements are met before the permits are issued, including the correct Lock-Out Tag-Out’s (LOTO's) are included in the package

• Responsible for crew training as a plant assesor, conduct formal training sessions, complete sign-offs on procedure reviews and unit knowledge competency verifications

• Verify and endorse Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) plans, ensuring they meet the Imperial Safe Work Practices before they are executed in the field

• Organize and execute monthly crew safety meetings to review key learnings and share company briefings

• Organize and conduct the daily work and safety meeting with all plant personnel

• Leader in the health, safety and environment (HSE) space, take ownership of the facility and make corrections to maintain the company's license to operate

• Responsible for the operation, daily rounds and maintenance of the water treatment plant which included Hot Lime Softeners, Anthracite Pressure Filters and Weak Acid Cation-Exchangers (WAC)

• Responsible for the operation, daily rounds and maintenance of the oil processing, deoiling and degassing plants which include the inlet Free Water Knockout vessels, Electrostatic Oil treaters, Boot Gas Separators, Stock Tank Vapour Recovery (STVR) and Sulphur recovery units as well as the asscociated exchangers and pumps. Duties included collecting and sampling the process fluids such as testing BS&W's on the oil samples and checking vessels for their water/oil interface

• Responsible for the operation, daily rounds and maintenance of the steam plant which included GE Frame 7 Gas Turbines, Once Through Steam Generators (OTSG), D-type water tube boilers as well as the high and low pressure boiler feedwater pumps

• Prepared Lock-Out, Tag-Out’s (LOTO’s) and isolated equipment for shutdowns and maintenance using Imperial Oil’s Safe Work Process

• Unit coordinator for two, 6 year major plant shutdowns. Duties included making the equipment shutdown plans, setting shutdown scope items and activities, building equipment shutdown and startup procedures, executing Lock-Out, Tag-Out’s (LOTO’s) on the equipment, working with the general contractor to support the critical path items

• Successfully trained on and operated the control panel, which included the start up and safe operation of the facilities

• Strong working knowledge of the Plant Honeywell operating system, including assisting with the control room modernization project

• Responsible for the operation, daily rounds and associated maintenance of the section Steam Methane Reformer which includes the 600PSI boiler and steam system, the flare header system, multiple shell and tube exchangers, the section Pressure Swing Adsorber, the High Temperature Shift Converter, the Desulphurization Reactor as well as the furnace draft fans

• Participate in the CO-OP Refinery Safe Work Permit System, including filling out and signing off on maintenance permits

• Responsible for the operation, daily rounds and associated maintenance of the unit 5500 H.P Hydrogen make-up compressor

• Prepared Lock-Out, Tag-Out’s (LOTO’s) and isolated equipment for shutdowns and maintenance using the CO-OP Process Safety Management System

• Responsible for making operational adjustments on the Reformer firing and water quality in the unit

• Responsible for the operation, daily rounds and associated maintenance of four 600PSI steam turbine fan and pump drivers, including adjusting governor set-points
