Summary

I am a motivated individual who is seeking post-secondary education by achieving a Bachelor's of Science in University.

I love Biology and hope to learn more on all the human body systems and in the future, like how cells work on a more complex and advanced level, how the cycles of the body truly connect.

I've done a lot volunteering over the course of my life, and enjoy partaking in activities to help the community.

I love working with others and believe to build knowledge is done by seeking different perspectives.

Physical and mental health is very important, I try to consistently push myself by working my body. I do this by working out, playing sports like basketball and running regularly.

Family holds a great place in my heart. The way I have been brought up as a child has influenced my respect and care I have for each family member as they taught me hard-work, determination, respect and responsibility.

Athletic Accomplishments:

This activity was an organized day event with my youth group again. Completed 100km bike ride. Done for Ruth and Naomi, a local aid center that prepares and serves meals to the unhoused. Our group met in the morning and we all biked around Chilliwack to the river, down to a highway all along a dike and then through long roads of Yarrow. B.C.

October 12, 2023

Signed of for the race around the lake in Cultus Lake. (Around the lake giver er' take 30km). Raced the relay part with a partner, running the first 17km part.

Personal Accomplishments:

August 10, 2021

Gave a sermon at my church. For this I had to speak up front to a large group of people. I worked hard on my sermon, writing or typing up notes and searching bible passages. This also included tons of self editing. I presented my own sermon in a youth panel. There was about 4 of us and each spoke on one of the different fruits of the spirit. I spoke on love and gave and included a modern day aspect.

2020-Current Day

Consistently played the flute. Learned this instrument from band class in middle school but decided to continue improving and learning on my own time. I took weekly classes with 2 teachers and still do. I've performed in recitals and hope to have this still harnessed in the future and be able to play at a higher level.

Volunteering

Volunteering in the Community:

October 2015-October 2019

In my youth group called Pathfinders we would put on this annual canned food drive in October around Halloween every year. I started this when I was 9 or 10. What happened was a week or two before the end of October our club would create fliers with information on donating canned goods to the salvation army. We would hand them out to every house in the community in groups. Later closer to Halloween we would go collect all the bags, count the cans and deliver them to the salvation army center.

August 6, 2023- August 18, 2023

During the summer I volunteered for the community by taking a position of leading out in a kids camp. This kids camp was associated with my church and called Vacation Bible School. It was open to the public and many kids attended. There I was a teen leader, I helped the kids with the different activities' and lead out in the theme song almost everyday up front. The goal of the camp was to be able to allow kids to experience God's love, and how to be a good friend to others around them.

Volunteering in the School:

September 22, 2022- October 26, 2022 + October 27, 2023

This activity was with Key Club. My school runs an annual ride for cancer event, where hard work and preparation goes into one day bike riding for cancer where students make teams, dress up and have fun. I helped in the preparation of making decorations, organizing teams, and partaking on a team to ride as well. Participating in a team also meant I went out and fundraised in the community, I raised around $500 myself and collectively our school raised $15,000. This year I also helped by making many decorations and fundraised $200 myself and collectively the school raised $10, 300.

Currently

This year I asked the Key Club Sponsor Teacher Mrs. Van Winkle if I could partake more in Key Club and the events they put on and opportunities they give. So Mrs. Van Winkle let me be in charge of raising donations and collecting warm winter clothes for the Chilliwack Hospital ER Department's Clothing Cupboard. I've raised $60 so far and have around 4 sweaters and 2 toques to give them. They used the donations to give clothes to people who come to the hospital not properly dressed for the cold weather.
