I have volunteered for almost 17 years at RIH. I have a good knowledge of the lay out and most of all I love helping people. I can listen well, be compassionate when needed and be firm when a situation calls for it. I work well with others or alone.
While I have had many jobs in the past, the ones which brought me the most satisfaction were the ones where I could work with and help people. My volunteer work provides me with much satisfaction. I am dependable, cheerful and flexible.
I have been able to successfully organize and facilitate events for a small group of 2 to much larger ones of 3000.
Along with a dear friend we put together the Kamloops Heritage society to restore St. Andrews On The Square which I successfully managed for over 25 years. I was awarded a life time achievment award from Heritage BC for this project.
I manage the Marsh Keepers program for Ducks Unlimited in Kamloops. This requires weekly visits to record issues that may arise and to maintain a log of wildlife around local marshes.
